I have used MS Powerpoint for the whole life and at university I had a subject where i had to make a presentation. The presentation had to be not standard - so I started to search for something new and at the and I found Prezi - the zooming presentation editor.
There is no need to read many tutorials to make a presentation. You create account and try to do something. It is really a nice tool for creating presentations. It is simple in use, friendly and understandable user interface.
Prezi has its own disadvantages, in comparison, with MS Powerpoint.
1. You cannot use sound with picture/slide simultaneously
2. You cannot create slide templates like the themes in Powerpoint
3. You cannot create animation
Prezi advantages, in comparison, with MS Powerpoint.
1. Yes, you can zoom, to move along your presentation. Its really exciting.
2. You can add pdf documents to the presentation. Afterwards, to zoom some parts of the document to move it in presentation and so on ...
3. Free of charge. Yes... you do not have to pay for the usage.
So, if the idea is to create exciting, simple presentation for the seminar or to present the goods - use Prezi. If you have a business meeting with serious people with smoking who like conservative style the Powerpoint is a good tool for that purpose.
